Lidia V. Chavira
Executive Director
LMSW, LADAC, CPSW, ACS
Lidia V. Chavira is the Executive Director of Desert O.A.S.I.S. and a dedicated advocate for recovery, reentry, and behavioral health services. As a Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor, Certified Peer Support Worker, and Approved Clinical Supervisor, she brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work.
After overcoming addiction, incarceration, and significant personal challenges, Lidia committed her life to helping others navigate recovery, healing, and reintegration. Her journey has shaped her belief that transformation happens in the space between crisis and stability, and that no one should have to walk that path alone.
Through Desert O.A.S.I.S., Lidia is leading the development of client-centered programs that support the whole person through recovery support, housing stabilization, peer services, workforce development, behavioral health resources, and community connection. Her vision is rooted in dignity, accountability, hope, and the belief that people should be defined by their potential not their past.
Lidia's mission is simple: create opportunities for healing, restoration, and lasting change for individuals, families, and communities throughout New Mexico.
