“From prisoner to purpose, the old me was never wasted.

For grace made beauty from the broken, and her journey begins”.

A Person with Lived Experience, Commitment & Passion

Inmate #  37210-051 Not in BOP Custody as of: 04/20/2021

Graduated with a Master's Degree and Graduate Certificate in 2025

Her commitment to this work is deeply rooted in lived experience—a journey of incarceration, recovery, rebuilding, and discovering purpose. That experience is not simply part of her past; it continues to shape the passion, understanding, and determination she brings to creating opportunities for others.

Her story is still being written. Every chapter—both the difficult ones and the beautiful ones—has helped shape the person, leader, and advocate she continues to become.

Reentry and Support Services

We are committed to empowering individuals rebuilding their lives after incarceration, treatment, and other significant life transitions by providing structured recovery support, peer mentorship, housing stability, and connections to employment and community resources.

Think of Desert O.A.S.I.S. as a place to rebuild, reconnect, and move forward. We provide trauma-informed recovery residence and wraparound services for adults in recovery and individuals with justice-involved backgrounds in Luna County, New Mexico.

Desert O.A.S.I.S. is not a diversion program, prison-release facility, or direct parole-placement program. Our focus is helping eligible individuals build Opportunity, Accountability, Support, Independence, and Stability as they work toward long-term recovery and successful community integration.

"IN EVERY DESERT OF CALAMITY, THERE IS AN OASIS OF COMFORT."

We live here. We know here. We grow here.

Desert oases are vital sanctuaries within arid environments, sustaining life where resources are scarce. In a similar vein, Desert O.A.S.I.S. Reentry and Wraparound Program serves as a refuge for individuals navigating recovery, reentry, and housing insecurity in rural communities like Luna County, New Mexico.
Just as natural oases foster diverse ecosystems and promote equilibrium, our program provides safe housing, peer support, and opportunities for personal development, empowering individuals to regain stability and thrive. We cultivate an environment that encourages healing, growth, and independence, even in the face of significant challenges. Desert O.A.S.I.S. will stand as a beacon of hope, offering a pathway to a brighter future.

Recovery & Peer Support

At Desert O.A.S.I.S., we recognize that recovery looks different for everyone and that each person brings their own strengths, experiences, and goals.

Peer support uses the power of shared lived experience to provide non-clinical, strengths-based encouragement, mentorship, accountability, and connection. Through meaningful relationships and community support, individuals are empowered to build confidence, strengthen recovery, develop a sense of belonging, reduce stigma, and create their own path toward long-term wellness and independence.

Individualized Assessment

INTAKE, ASSESSMENT & INDIVIDUALIZED PLANNING
